“ having two paths, one for each of two moving points —used of a curve (such as a hyperbola) —opposed to unicursal”

We are Zack and EJ Anderson, the husband and wife team behind Bicursal Designs, which we started in 2010. We first began making jewelry on our days off without any large tools or a studio or frankly any ambition of paying bills with our wares. We made jewelry as gifts or for friends and family, and after lots of encouragement from them… eventually started selling on Etsy, in a few shops and at small pop ups around town.

A dozen years, two kids and one pandemic later, our work continues, and we have done more under this name and venture in the last two years than all the previous years combined. We are lucky enough to have space to create in our home and garage and have been able to do so much more than we ever dreamed back when we started. We’ve sold hundreds of pieces and shipped work across the globe, which is so surreal when we think back to how this all got started.

We are very much a collective. We love working independently within our shared aesthetic, but we also consult with each other all the time and help each other out when projects need an extra hand. Combining our skills brings out the best in each other and our work, and our paths wind on ahead as we continue to push ourselves and experiment with new tools, methods and projects. We’ve tried to be more mindful in the pursuit of sourcing local recycled materials, learning more sustainable practices and seeking out more in-person connections within our own community. We truly feel this work has made us better people, better parents and more engaged citizens and every Bicursal Designs piece is made with joy and good intentions.
